OK, here it is - the long promised "who has the most furry toys?" competition.
Only furry toys are eligible. Balls and kongs don't count.
I'll kick-off, here's Meg's toy box ...
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00745.jpg)
... and here they are spread out on the dining table ...
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00746.jpg)
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00747.jpg)
I make that thirty four (34).
This figure doesn't include ...
- The giant teddy my dad gave her for xmas (because it's got glass eyes).
- Any others which might be languishing under beds or behind sofas somewhere.
- Furry toys which do belong to Meg but live at my parents house for when she visits.
- Other furry toys in the house which don't belong to Meg.
- Steph's slippers.
Now, let's highlight some favourites ...
Beatrice Bear (a xmas present from Hazel)
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00748.jpg)
Lamzie
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00749.jpg)
Beaver
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00750.jpg)
Quacker the Duck
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00751.jpg)
Floppy Dog
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00752.jpg)
Square Sheep (sixteen squeakers and a rattling head - purchased from a pet store in Edmonton Mall)
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00753.jpg)
Hedgie
![[image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v108/Numptie/DSC00754.jpg)
So there's your starter for ten folks.
Bring it on!
By the way, I have mentioned to Di that there may be a bit of a surplus in our house and I'd likely have one or two items to contribute to the next jumble.
Cheers,
Eric

We cant enter cos don't understand this furry stuffed dead animal thing thats going on ere. Why aint you eaten em? Is you a dafty? Whas the point in havin em if you aint gonna kill em and rip em to shreds and destuff and shred, drag, toss and destroy? Are we missin somefink?
We dont have toys. We has bones and boring placky squeaky lemons and santas. Mum used to ave some fluffy things in her bedroom but we killed em for her. She used to have a pair of brand new fluffy slippers too but now she's only got one. Our grandma had fluffy gloves and a matching hat made out of a dead sheep but we ate them too!
I bet your house has got loo rolls? Ours only has em if the bathroom door is locked. Poppy just loves killing loo rolls. Shredded Loo rolls is the best for mess - apart from unstuffing a feather duvet - I mean that is mega great fun!
We was at the beach today. Sand blasted and blown away but Mum says shes runnin the mischief outa us!

Harry is the only hound here that really likes soft toys and he only has 2 Noddy dollies, that he will share sometimes with Twiggy but usually keeps them safe in his bed, under the duvet.
So we are not in serious contention, I'm afraid.

WOW! We is seriously impressed,Meg. How did you persuade your folks to let you have furries? We is not allowed any squeakies. It's not fair! Mum gets to have all the fun 'cos we hear her killing them with a skewer before she gives us the rubber balls to play with.
She says that after "THE INCIDENT" with human sis's precious hamster, many years ago, we is taking no chances 'cos some of the furries look awful like the old pusscats that share our house with. They even make the same noise !! Please, please let your know the secret.
Benjy and Misty (the rodent catcher.)
"The INCIDENT" happened when we had visitors who left the door to the spare bedroom open and I heard our daughter screaming. I ran upstairs to find that Misty had somehow managed to take the front off the hamster's cage and she proudly showed us where she had disposed of Ears the beloved pet.

I have to admit defeat here.
There is no contest to be honest.I have the same size box for Sir Reginald's array of toys but it is just over the top not overflowing like Megs's
He has quite a few squeaky balls as well so that would take the level down to below the top
I here pronounce Meg as the holder of the 'Furry Toy Competition' the worthy Champion![[image]](http://www.smileys.me.uk/smileys/Party/party0018.gif)
He doesn't destroy them any more but just mouths them. He has a fav 'Bee' one Kim took him over from US and the squeak sounds like a pig who has it's tail stuck in a mangle![[image]](http://www.smileys.me.uk/smileys/Surprised/surprised004.gif)

Wow Meg...Smoky loves your toys especially square sheep and Hedgie!
My mum's gettin a right laugh at all this nonsense!
Smoky has a handful of furry toys and like Rascal he rips the eyes out first...everytime. His fave toy is "funny man" which is a golf club cover of "Gnasher" and was never meant to be a greyhound's plaything.
Louise...my total sympathy regarding "The Incident"...my sister kept her beloved guineau pig, Ernesto in the house...not in a cage...actually wandering around the house like a little dog. When i had my dobermann and we visited i always hung onto her collar at the door and made sure Ernesto was safely away in the bedroom before we came in. But the inevitable eventually happened when someone opened the bedroom door and.....Erenesto ended up in dobermann's mouth...and then in a shoebox in the earth

We can't even start to compete on this one! Major loves stuffed toys, and to be fair to him they do last a while. The other two reprobates, on the other hand, do not rest until they have pulled any furry toy apart - generally within minutes of getting hold of it! So, there are no toys in our house that aren't stamped 'Kong'
Saffy proved that even Kong isn't indestructable though - bought a Kong bone shaped toy that was covered in tennis ball type covering - within five minutes she had started to pull all the covering off, so it headed to the bin........

Our mum is mean like Poppy and Taras mum and Major's dad, we dont get toys anymore except in the summer we get to chase rubber balls when mum feels energetic. She got fed up with clearing up masses of spilt stuffing cos we had to kill them like P & T. does. But we get lovely smelly bones once a month and have great fun making a mess with them till we've chewed all the yummy bits out, then mum has to wash all our duvets and blankets. It keeps our teeth lovely and clean and keeps us quiet for hours. We also stole all our mums and brothers and sisters fluffies, some of them were very old and we thought it was time they werre played with, dont know why the humans got so annoyed. Tia plays with anything leather - mums shoes, leads, collars, muzzles, she kills them well dead, and we have been known to play with the odd rabbit or deer on our walks, thye dont play for long though except playing dead. There are nine guinea pigs in our house but we're not allowed to play with them, we think that would be great fun cos boy, do they squeak, but mum keeps their door locked all the time and no one else is allowed in their room. They have a whole area of garden all to themselves as well in the good weather - can anyone remember what that is???,- and we arent allowed there at all. So even with no toys, we have lots of fun and play jokes on mum like hiding the bones in her bed.

What a lovely pic Liz.
We have a cat, Tootsie, but they just tolerate each other with no real liking on either side. Now our lovely young Sox cat (RIP) adored Poppy and Poppy adored him. Inseparable! When he was run over at 11 months old Poppy became depressed which was why we got Tara. Tootsie is very old so when she goes we will try and get a couple of cuddly hound loving cats. How you identify a dog loving cat I'm not sure!
The cats protection league is going to find wanting two live cats for two greyhounds a bit hard to swallow!
We've never had any accidents - apart from when the cat got the lid off the fish tank and when someone elses dog got in amongst my chickens and ducks............. just terrible, I can't bear to think about it! June

Congratulations, Meg, on being the furry toy champion but we wos thinking that you is maybe in denial about your house being over run with all them furries. We has come up with a cunning plot to sort 'em out.
You and I is both bootiful blue hounds and and we both has lovely white faces so we reckon if Misty and me follow you back from Seaton one Sunday we could sneak in your house without the hooman beans noticing us and 'cos you has so many beds as long as we wos in different rooms they would think that I wos you!!
Misty could sleep in the furry box and pretend she wos a furry
and then when the hooman beans wos out earning pennies to keep us hounds in the manner to wot we is accustomed we could go on a mass furry shredding spree and your folks would be very happy when they came home
Let us know when we could put our plan into action!
Love,
Benjy

This ain't gonna work.
I think it would be pretty simple to differentiate - what with the ability / non ability to; sit, give paws and what have you.
Nice try though.
Cheers,
Eric
